Graduated from Kennedy High Information Technology Academy in 2015. He is currently majoring in Business in Information Technology at San Francisco State University, Jose was given a full academic ride for his school of choice. While Attending High School, Jose had an accumulative 4.1 GPA as well as being elected as the ITA Ambassador in 2015. Jose also worked as an intern with Techfutures starting in the summer of his junior year, following High school he was hired as an employee and continued to work for Techfutures as a Desktop Technician.
Jose Sierra was born in Guatemala and was brought to the United States as a child at the age of 7 years old. He attended John F. Kennedy High School and the Information Technology Academy. Once graduated (2011) from high school Jose attended San Francisco State University where he obtains his Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering. Jose a DACA recipient has worked at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab for the past five years. He began working as a Student Assistant, then as a Systems Engineer for the Computational Research Division (CRD), and now currently works as a Site Reliability Engineer for the Operations Technology Group (OTG) under the National Energy Research Scientific computing Center (NERSC) division.
